I have always lived in California, except for a few years after college when relocated to Boston to work at a major newspaper where I worked on the book review and travel sections. I have been a San Francisco-based journalist covering the meetings/travel industry for over 25 years, work that has taken me to over 50 countries. I am responsible for the news and features articles for Meetings Focus.

Most unique place you’ve been: flying over the Great Migration in Tanzania

Favorite aspect of the meetings/travel industry: the willingness of people to share their knowledge and the chance to visit great places

Pet peeve: crowded airports and airplanes

One thing about you that most people don’t know: that will remain a mystery

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received in our industry? Be nice to those you meet on the way up because you may meet them again on the way down
