zachary.chouteau@meetingsfocus.com

I’ve been a writer and editor for over two decades, with much of my focus in the travel sector. My current position involves writing feature and destination pieces, overseeing our social media efforts, and helping the meetingsfocus.com website reach its full potential.

Most unusual aspect of your job: I suppose this is getting less and less unusual, but I wouldn’t have imagined a few years back that something called ‘tweeting’ would ever be a big part of my position.

Favorite book: The Magus, by John Fowles

Favorite food: Broiled lobster dipped in butter

Favorite TV show: Survivor

Favorite movie: Animal House/Casablanca/The Big Lebowski

Most unique place you’ve been: Bioluminescent Bay, Vieques, Puerto Rico

Favorite aspect of the meetings/travel industry: Meeting new people, seeing new places

Pet peeve: Telemarketers

One thing about you that most people don’t know: Once wrote a novel in one month (unpublished).

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received in our industry? “Don’t try to be perfect, you’ll only mess yourself up.”

What’s your favorite local/regional place to take a visitor to your area? Wine Country, Stinson Beach or Golden Gate Park
