Going Places

Arizona

  • Andrew Hatton returned to Arizona Grand Resort after six years to serve as director of sales. He has 10 years of sales experience with the Greater Phoenix CVB and most recently served as director of sales at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Chandler, Ariz., where he managed group sales functions and achieved $25 million in annual group revenue.

California

  • Marcus Muller was named general manager of Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel in Beverly Hills. He brings 20 year of international hospitality experience to the position and has worked in the U.S., Germany and the United Kingdom. Before joining Luxe Hotels he served as director of rooms at Hotel Bel Air, front house manager at the Connaught Hotel in London and duty manager at the Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne, Germany.

  • James Gancos was appointed general manager at W Los Angeles-Westwood. He began his career with Starwood in 2004 as director of operations, North America, and for the past two years has worked as general manager at the W Istanbul in Turkey. Before joining the hospitality industry he was a senior consultant at Ernst & Young specializing in business strategy, process reengineering and Information Technology projects for Fortune 500 companies.

Utah

  • Convention management company SMG named Dan Hayes general manager of the Salt Palace Convention Center, filling the vacancy left by former GM Allyson Jackson, who is now overseeing SMG’s Jekyll Island Convention Center in Georgia.

    Hayes has worked with SMG for 12 years and most recently served as Salt Palace’s facility director/assistant general manager. Other positions he has held with the company include director of sales and marketing and director of event management.

  • Kimberly Leary joined Visit Salt Lake as director of convention sales and Tobb Huebner is now the CVB’s director of sports market sales. Leary brings 15 years of hotel sales experience and most recently worked as director of group rooms for Salt Lake City’s Sheraton Hotel. Huebner served as sales manager for the Salt Palace Convention Center and the South Towne Expo Center for the last three years.
