• The Seattle Art Museum is slated to present an exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso, Masterpieces from the Musee National Picasso, Paris. Drawn from the collection of the Musee National Picasso in Paris, the exhibition will feature more than 150 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and photographs. Every major period from the artist's output over eight decades will be represented, including the Blue Period La Celestina (1904), Cubist Man with a Guitar (1911) and Two Women Running on the Beach (La Course) (1922). This will be the first major survey of Picasso's long career ever to be seen in the Northwest. The exhibit runs from Oct. 8 to Jan. 17, 2011. For more information, call 206.654.3100.

• To celebrate its decade in existence, the Fairmont Vancouver Airport, located in the terminal at Vancouver International Airport, is offering a special meeting package. The hotel's milestone is being marked with nightly guest room rates of $149 for meetings hosted Fridays to Tuesdays until the end of September. Complimentary wireless and high-speed Internet connectivity is provided in the primary meeting room. Tech Updates

• MGM Resorts International, formerly MGM Mirage, recently launched five free iPhone applications dedicated to Las Vegas. "Vegas Reality" is the city's first dedicated augmented reality app, letting users point their iPhones at resorts and watch as information automatically appears as floating text on their screen, using the phone's camera and GPS. The company also launched the first three of a series of apps for its Las Vegas hotels: Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and New York-New York; apps for the company's remaining properties and attractions are in the works. The resort apps provide options to order room service, preview and reserve rooms and allow meeting and event planners to create private pages only viewable to their group, including event itineraries, party photos and more. The fifth app, "Entertainment of Las Vegas," delivers access to video previews, show times, event calendars, directions and ticket purchasing for all the company's shows.

• Aloft Tempe was awarded LEED status, making it the first such certified property for the brand.
