Andjela Kessler PresidentIncentive Travel & Meetings AtlantaWhat are three great ways to experience Atlanta’s evolving nightlife scene?- Chastain Park: One of Atlanta’s traditions is Chastain Park, a large park encompassing a golf course, horse stables and an outdoor amphitheater where touring jazz and contemporary artists play. What sets it apart from other concert venues is that in the old Southern tradition, people bring their silver candelabras and enjoy the music in the soft candlelight. They also bring the Southern cooking with them and serve it in elaborate, elegant settings.
- Buckhead and Midtown: Chastain Park is in the city’s upscale area, Buckhead, which truly sparkles after dark. Stroll through the “Village,” the intersection of West Paces Ferry and Peachtree roads, and see what catches your fancy. There are lots of bars and clubs, from the ESPN sports bar to dance clubs and jazz bars. You can club-hop to your heart’s content. On weekends, the area resembles a giant block party as thousands of people crowd the sidewalks, especially when the weather is warm. Not far away on Peachtree Street in Midtown are the Fabulous Fox, an historic theater offering touring live shows, and the Woodruff Arts Center, housing the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Alliance Theatre and the High Museum. The museum and the adjacent lively courtyard are good venues for private group events, showcasing art and unique architecture.
- Atlanta Art Scene: The art scene in Atlanta is very vibrant and diverse, boasting some great African-American artists as well as renowned artists of many other ethnic groups and nationalities. On certain nights you can enjoy the Art Walks, when galleries in several art zones are open, including Casselberry Hills, Bennett Street, East Paces Ferry Road, and Peachtree Hills Avenue.
