The very first green meetings and event standards, introduced by the Convention Industry Council Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX) and The American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) in February of 2012 are now available online for purchase as a complete compilation.
The APEX/ASTM standards are broken down into nine individual "sector" standards, covering all facets of event planning and management. Previously available for sale separately at a cost of $40 to $46, meeting planners and suppliers now have the option to take advantage of cost savings and buy eight of the nine standards in a bundle for $149.
The ninth and final standard, accommodations, will be added to the compilation in the coming months once it receives final approval from ASTM.
The completed APEX/ASTM standards are comprised of standards in the following areas: audio-visual; communication & marketing materials; destinations; exhibits; food & beverage, meeting venue, on-site office and transportation.
