Overview

The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is Kansas City's premier convention hotel - featuring two distinct towers — the Marriott Tower and historic Muehlebach Tower —connected via a covered skybridge. Together they offer 983 luxury guest rooms and nearly 100,000 sq. ft. of diverse function space. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city's downtown renaissance, within walking distance of the Sprint Center and the Power& Light Entertainment District. It is directly connected underground to the renovated and expanded Kansas City Convention Center. The hotel is totally smoke-free.

Recent renovations include full renovation of guest rooms and bathrooms that now boast granite vanities and tile work, soaking tubs and luxurious personal amenities. The totally re-configured lobby is called BARCENTRAL. This energetic, exciting space is designed so everyone can enjoy the atmosphere whether they are working, relaxing or meeting friends for cocktails and a quick bite. There are large communal tables for informal meetings, plenty of outlets for wireless connecting, private areas for relaxing and TV screens all around. Food service is available day and night, providing freshly prepared dishes in 5, 10 or 20 minutes to accommodate busy or relaxing schedules. Beverage service includes hand-crafted signature cocktails, wine and imported craft beers. The upgraded hotel restaurant, MetropolitanKC has s a stylish, new look and menu, and offers breakfast and lunch buffets and steak, seafood and barbeque offerings at dinner.

The newly renovated and totally state-of-the art health club and lap pool are located on the top floor, affording a breathtaking view of the city.

 

Hotel

The spacious guestrooms feature ergonomic design to support business and meetings travelers, featuring comfortable workspace with computer friendly desk set up, data and enhanced lighting. The Revive bedding, featuring down comforters, cotton-rich linens and fluffy feather pillows, ensures a restful night's sleep.  Additional amenities include 37-inch LCD HD monitors with Marriott Plug and Play Technology, and DS3 Internet connections to enhance speed and bandwidth. There are 946 rooms plus 37 suites of varying sizes and configurations, including the Truman Presidential Suite.
Among the hotel features designed to make the guests' stay comfortable and convenient include a full-service Business Center, Concierge Lounge and shoeshine station. SHOPCENTRAL offers a Grab and Go section for coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches and snacks, as well as newspapers, magazines and traveler’s necessities available.  For quick coffee service COFFEECENTRAL features a variety of specialty coffees and snacks.

Meeting Space

The Kansas City Marriott features totally flexible meeting space to accommodate a variety of meeting needs - from small corporate meetings for 10 to large groups of 2,000. The hotel offers nearly 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms, 42 breakout rooms, and a 12,000 square foot Exhibit Hall. Renovation of the meting rooms will be complete in Spring, 2014. Our on-site catering and technical staffs ensure that meetings go smoothly. The 15,080 square foot Basie Ballroom can be used in a variety of configurations for banquets, school-room or theater seating, exhibits and receptions, with 2,000 accommodated for receptions. The 17,040 square foot Imperial Ballroom can also be divided to accommodate banquets, school-room or theater seating, exhibits and receptions. It accommodates 2,400 for receptions. Both ballrooms have spacious foyers ideal for pre and post function events and exhibits.

The hotel is right in the heart of the $4 billion downtown renaissance which includes the Power & light Entertainment District and Sprint Center, plus the College Basketball Hall of Fame and Midland and Alamo Drafthouse theatres.
